Can you die by being a bad judge of character? You decide. There were five stories in the book that I wrote, “They didn’t do what I told them to do,” published in November 2011. (http://www.dorisnoble.com)
These five stories that were told to me never left my memory and I believe ultimately saved my life. If you keep hearing the same thing over and over again, you probably need to take stock in it and more than likely it is a word or warning from the Lord. Below is one of those five stories.
Excerpt from the Book: “They didn’t do what I told them to do”
The first story was given by a woman named Marla Dukes, who
was just a bit older than me; she attended church with me before
I married. I saw Marla again after she retired, shortly after I was
married. She was working part-time at a local department store.
She said that being there allowed her to work when she wanted
and vacation when she wanted. Marla said that she was not going
to an early grave because of a high stress job. She also said that her
husband, Mike never wanted to travel or do much at all. The last
time I saw her, she was living life and enjoying it. As she looked at
me, Marla said that one of her friends died of cancer, and on her
deathbed she said that if she had known that her husband truly was
the way that he was, she would have left him a long time ago.
God always steps in to help whenever you cannot make a rational decision; this is why it so important to be obedient when speaks.
